Wedding Florals

Field Blooms flowers will offer a unique touch of magic to your wedding. Our flowers are sustainable, locally grown and freshly picked to order.

Perfect for if you love arranging flowers, or have a talented/creative friend or family member who has offered their skills, and love the idea of using locally grown seasonal flowers.

We offer the following wedding floral services (available from November - March):

  • Curated Bloom Buckets

    I will work with you to figure out how many flowers you will need. I will grow and provide blooms within a specific theme/colour palette.

  • Curated Bloom Buckets + Garden Style Bouquets + Buttonholes.

    For if you want to do the venue/table flowers yourselves but wish for someone else to make the bouquets.

 FAQs

  • The wedding week is busy and you will have a lot going on. Ensure you will have time to pick up, arrange and set up the flowers at the venue, as it is easy to underestimate how long it will take.

    Make sure you have people to help as well, or if it is a friend/family member doing the arrangements make sure they have helpers. Some people prefer to work with just one or two others so they can focus on what they’re doing, whilst some are happy with lots of helpers, it just totally depends on how you operate.

  • We suggest you get the flowers 2 days before your wedding eg. if your wedding is on Saturday, order them for Thursday. This ensures you have sufficient time to sort them into the groups for each different arrangement. Don’t try and arrange them the day of, or evening before your wedding, that will cause an undue amount of stress! Or even better get people to help and it can be a fun activity, especially if you have creative friends/family who wish to help!

  • Once you’ve decided on a colour palette/overall theme for your wedding, then you can work out how many arrangements you want.

    When figuring out how many flowers you will require please consider the following as a guide but not a complete reference. Write a list of arrangements you wish to do, tally up the stem counts and use this to figure out how many flowers you will need.

    Table centrepiece:

    Small = 6 - 8 stems, Medium = 9 - 14 stems, Large = 15 - 25 stems

    Bridal bouquet:

    Small = 10 stems, Medium = 18-20 stems, Large = 25 - 30 stems

    Bridesmaid bouquet:

    Small = 6-8 stems, Medium = 8-12 stems, Large = 18-20 stems

    Bud vases = 2 - 5 stems depending on size.

    Plinth/urn/arch arrangement = these can vary depending on size but I’d suggest 30+ stems per arrangement. It depends if it will be flower heavy, or if you are wanting to use foliage as well.

  • This is not such an issue if you have access to the venue the day before.

    But if you don’t have access to the venue until the day of the wedding you will need to work out timings. If this is the case you could arrange the flowers the night before and get someone else to transport the vases there the day of and set them up. You’ll need to figure out how to safely transport lots of vases filled with flowers and water to the venue. They can be partially filled to avoid spillage and topped up at the venue.

    If you are getting friends/family to do the flowers check what time they can access the venue. They may be confident to do the flowers the morning of your wedding, depending on the number of/complexity of arrangements, but bear in mind they will still need time to go home and get ready.

  • We will give you tips when you receive your flowers on how to look after them so they’re in prime condition.

    They need fresh water and to be kept somewhere cool until the wedding day.

    Start with clean vessels and a clear workspace. When you’re arranging cut the stems on an angle so there is more room for water to transpire up the stem.

    Step away from the arrangement every now and then and come back to it gives you a break. Don’t fluff around too much at the end trying to get it right as you can end up having to start over again. Sometimes less is more, eg. adding too many extra final stems can overpower the overall bouquet.

    If you have a marquee don’t put the flowers out in the marquee until the day of the wedding if it’s windy/hot but you can arrange everything in the vases and keep them somewhere cool until then.escription
