Pick Your Own Event (COMING AGAIN IN SUMMER)
Visit the farm while the flowers are flushing. Plenty of flowers including dahlias, zinnias, snapdragons, marigolds, celosia are blooming. This is the last lot of flowers to flush before autumn hits and the field slows down.
Come along and experience the joy of picking your own flowers from the field.
When:
You can arrive anytime from 8am until 10:00am. Expect picking to take about 30-60 minutes.
Where:
102 Maniatutu Road, Pongakawa (2 mins off SH2), about 20-30 mins from Papamoa and the Mount.
What to bring:
Flower scissors will be provided, but please bring your own bucket if you can. If you don’t have a bucket bring a container to take them home in eg. laundry tub and I can provide you with a bucket while you’re picking.
Wear appropriate footwear and clothing as though you were visiting a farm (probably a good idea not to wear white). The garden itself is flat so you won’t be walking up any steep hills.
How does it work:
Your ticket entitles you to pick x 1 bucket of flowers (this can be shared with a friend).
You are welcome to bring friends or children and you can share your bucket with them to pick into.
You can arrive anytime from 8am until 10:00am.
Expect picking to take about 30-60 minutes.
Upon arrival I will give you a quick guided tour of the flower patch and show you where to pick the flowers and how to process them for optimum vase life.
Following this you will be free to explore and harvest your own flowers!
Terms and Conditions
Children:
Children are more than welcome! But they are to be under your supervision while on site, not free ranging as there are multiple hazards as with any farm.
Access/mobility:
There are uneven surfaces but the garden itself is flat so you won’t be walking up any steep hills. Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions about this.
Health and Safety:
There are bees and insects around as with any garden.
This is a working agricultural farm. Please bear this in mind and leave dogs at home, unless you have contacted me prior.
